SON RAISE Event Productions:
Decisions
This
page is designed to help you when it comes to deciding on a
DJ, a Photographer, or a Videographer. Here are just a few things
to take into consideration...
DECIDING ON A D.J.
Deciding on a DJ can sometimes be quite
difficult. If you know exactly what you want, then you want
to make sure that your DJ can give you exactly what you want
and not something else completely different. On the other hand,
you may not know what you want, except that you don't want to
hear anything that is inappropriate.
Most DJ's today just aim to play what's hot on the charts and
not really pay too much mind to what the song is actually saying.
This can lead to either you or your guests feeling very uncomfortable.
In many cases, it is all that you will hear about whenever the
mention of your wedding comes up in the future. For this reason,
it is very important to have a DJ that honestly cares about
your wishes. Some DJ's will tell you what you want to hear,
but when the time comes to fulfill their promises to you, everything
that you asked for is just thrown out the window.
That's why we at SON RAISE purposely
write down everything that you want and everything that you
don't want. It's our way of letting you know that we're listening
to you. We DO care about your wishes. And those wishes are guaranteed!
And the best guarantee is the one you never have to use!
SON RAISE Music will give you EXACTLY
what you want. Even if you're not totally sure of what you want
played, you can be sure that you will NEVER hear offensive lyrics
when you use SON RAISE for your event!
If you want a mix of both Christian
and secular music, keep this in mind: You will find that there
are only "Just Christian" or "Just Secular" DJ's available. Finding a DJ that knows Christian AND Secular
music, AND who knows how to combine the two just hasn't been
possible...UNTIL NOW!! That just happens to be our specialty!
We can give you an evening of one or the other, or a mix of
both at whatever ratio you choose. It's just another example
of how well we listen to you!
DECIDING ON A PHOTOGRAPHER
Choosing your photographer can be more
difficult than choosing your DJ. The work that your photographer
does is something that you will have for the rest of your life.
So making sure that you will be happy with the finished product
is a vital necessity!
Other considerations are prices and flexibility. Some Photographers
have been known to be very inflexible with their packages and
their prices because of the high demand for Wedding Photographers.
Their prices have been unbelievably high and unless they had
a package that just happened to have exactly what you wanted,
you would end up paying a lot more money than you really needed
to. Recently, more photographers have been offering a limited
amount of flexibility, but that doesn't come without a price.
If prices and flexibility don't matter
to you, then it really doesn't matter what the package may contain
as long as you are happy with the product. If prices and flexibility
ARE an issue, then you really need to look for a photographer
that will give you what you want without a lot of what you don't
want, and whose work is something you can appreciate.
At SON RAISE, we believe that it is
important for you to meet with your photographer and actually
see for yourself some of the work that has been done in the
past. This is the only way to get a clear example of what you
can expect the final product to be for your own special day.
We highly recommend an engagement photo shoot to help give you
an idea of the chemistry between yourselves and the photographer.
It makes the wedding day a little less stressful when you know
what to expect. Many photographers don't feel the need to meet
with you, claiming to not have enough time, and that you should
take them at their word. But what looks good to one person may
not look good to another. You need to make sure that YOUR wedding
pictures will be something cherished by yourselves and your
loved ones for many years to come.
We at SON RAISE can AND WILL give you
the flexibility of customizing any package that you choose.
We are always willing to work with you to meet your desires
and your budget. Our photography style is both portrait and
photo-journalistic, so we can offer you more variety than other
photographers. We work with you one on one - always being open
to suggestions that you may have for creating scenes or poses
that you think you would like. This helps to ensure your happiness,
which helps you relax, and makes more natural-looking poses
and photos. And after all, it's YOUR day and YOUR photos! We
haven't forgotten that!
DECIDING ON A VIDEOGRAPHER
If you're considering using a Videographer,
you should ask yourself a few very important questions.
1. If one of my family or friends does the video, will it be
something that I can be happy with? Can they edit it?
2. If I don't like the appearance of the video, will I ever
want to play it again?
3. If I want something more than a home-made movie, how much
am I willing to pay?
These questions are something to seriously
consider. You need to think about what will make you happy.
What will you feel good about when you decide to play the video
for your loved ones? And what WON'T you feel good about?
We have seen wedding videos that have
been done by so-called professionals that weren't worth any
more than the tape they were recorded on. After watching it
once, some couples never wanted to see their video again. It
became depressing to think about how much money they had spent
for a "professional" video, but received something
that their 10 year-old cousin could have accomplished.
If you have someone from your family or a friend provide your
videography, here are a couple of important things to think
about:
1. Does this person have professional lighting to suit the requirements
of the surroundings for a good-looking video?
2. Will this person ever have a chance to enjoy the Wedding
or even be in the video?
3. Do you think you will be satisfied in the years to come with
a home-made movie of the most important day of your life?
If you are doubtful about any of the
questions stated above, then you may want to consider a professional
Videographer. If you don't want to pay a fortune, but don't
want to sacrifice quality, then you want to consider SON RAISE
Videography.
Many Videographers charge well over
$2000 and the finished product is far from "professional".
In many cases, they simply record what they do and give you
a copy "as-is". Some give you a well edited video,
but limit you to only 2 hours for your final video. At SON RAISE,
we don't stop at that. We go much further...professionally editing
your video and using ALL available footage! If it's usable,
it's in your video with absolutely NO TIME LIMITATIONS!! We
even offer a choice of VHS or DVD. If you want both, you can
have that too. And in our opinion, there is absolutely NO reason
to charge an arm and a leg! If you decide to use SON RAISE Digital
Videography, you'll get a professional, broadcast-quality DVD
at a very reasonable price.
